Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jim Storm! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rajesh Ramayan Koothrappali ! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Winston Howard and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Koothrappali punishes Storm's body with a nice straight punch. Storm stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Koothrappali . Storm scores with a jab to the head.
Storm defending well as Koothrappali loads up on a big left hand. Koothrappali ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Storm moves away. Koothrappali moves into range and connects with a jab. Storm throws a lazy body kick and Koothrappali counters with a nice uppercut. Koothrappali misses with a straight right. Storm gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Koothrappali counters with a nice uppercut. Storm with a poor takedown and Koothrappali counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's one minute gone in the round. Koothrappali misses with an uppercut. Storm saw that one coming. Koothrappali lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Storm tries for a takedown but Koothrappali sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Storm. That's going to take a lot out of him. Koothrappali throws a shot to the body.
Storm shoots in and bounces Koothrappali off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Storm looking to pass the guard. Koothrappali keeping moving, preventing Storm from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Storm throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Koothrappali works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Storm looking to sit in guard and control but Koothrappali gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Koothrappali controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Storm looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Storm is looking to stand up but Koothrappali isn't so interested in that idea. Storm is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Koothrappali trying to control but Storm is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Storm has his foot on Koothrappali 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Koothrappali works his way back into a safe position though. Storm is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Storm looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Koothrappali not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Storm is looking for a triangle but Koothrappali pushes his legs off easily.
Koothrappali gets to his feet - Storm follows without any prompting. Storm fails with the takedown and Koothrappali counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Storm tries for a takedown but Koothrappali circles away easily and Koothrappali counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Koothrappali scores with a jab to the head.
Koothrappali misses with a hook. Koothrappali connects with a solid leg kick. Storm fails with the takedown and Koothrappali counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Koothrappali misses with a body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Koothrappali scores with the left hand. Storm knows he should have avoided that one. Koothrappali lands a glancing blow to the side of Storm's head. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Storm. Storm gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Koothrappali counters with a straight right hand.
Storm is rocked! Koothrappali jabs Storm to the body, keeping him at a distance. Koothrappali swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. and Koothrappali counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Storm! He's just covering up as Koothrappali starts to tee off till referee steps in and stops the fight!
