Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Hans Gruber! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Arabian Beattie! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gruber scores with a nice strike. Gruber tries to clinch up. Gruber scores with a one two! Beattie had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Beattie takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Beattie with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Gruber to score with a decent uppercut. Beattie tries to clinch but Gruber moves out of range. Gruber rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Beattie moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Beattie gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Gruber drives through with a takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gruber trying to control the position from guard on top but Beattie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gruber is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Beattie is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Beattie has escaped and now he's on top! Gruber knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Beattie on the ground. Gruber wants to sweep but no luck. Beattie content to stall in guard here. Gruber trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
That's one minute gone in the round. Beattie preventing the sweep. Gruber not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Beattie stands and steps away. Gruber gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Gruber looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
A nice leg kick lands there from Gruber. Beattie has closed the distance and engaged Gruber in a clinch.
Beattie tries a knee to the head but Gruber blocks it.

Beattie keeps control of Gruber as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Beattie tries for a takedown but Gruber manages to get underhooks.
Beattie changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Gruber fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Beattie doesn't manage to clinch there - Gruber circles away.
Beattie tries to clinch and Gruber counters with a lovely straight right hand! Gruber throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Gruber is breathing heavily. Beattie with poor footwork there. Gruber throws a series of punches but Beattie moves out of range. No luck for Gruber with that takedown attempt. Beattie fails in his attempt to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Beattie blocks a jab. Beattie slips a jab and a cross from Gruber.
Gruber tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Beattie paws at him with a jab and circles away. Beattie moves in looking to clinch but Gruber pushes him off. Gruber circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hans Gruber seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A combination from Beattie does no damage. Beattie shoots in but Gruber avoids the takedown attempt easily. Hans Gruber has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Arabian Beattie. Beattie rushes Gruber and presses him up against the cage. Beattie gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Gruber has clasped his hands together around Beattie's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Beattie manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Gruber is looking to get back to full guard here but Beattie has managed to pass to side control instead. Beattie controlling from the full mount. Gruber working to try and regain half guard.
Beattie avoids the attempt from Gruber to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gruber keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Gruber doing his best to control the position. Can he escape? Gruber wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Gruber covers up after that shot from Beattie.
Beattie looking for the choke from the back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gruber tries to break free.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gruber is working hard here to advance position. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Beattie is looking to control Gruber but Gruber is wriggling around and keeping busy. Beattie has the hooks in. Gruber is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Beattie working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Gruber is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Beattie has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Gruber taps out!
