Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Louis Winchester! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andre Moraes! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Hugh Johnson and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Winchester has his takedown stuffed and Moraes counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Moraes shoots in and gets a takedown into Winchester's guard. Moraes is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Winchester keeping moving, preventing Moraes from controlling successfully. Winchester is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Moraes is controlling him. Moraes works a leg free and moves into half guard. Winchester is pressing down on Moraes's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Moraes trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Winchester knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Moraes on the ground. Moraes passes into half guard. Moraes is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Moraes is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Winchester trying to control but Moraes postures up.
Moraes trying to control the pace. Moraes moves nicely into side control. Winchester is trying to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Moraes prevents Winchester from escaping the position. Moraes has hold of Winchester's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Winchester seems comfortable defending it but Moraes has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Winchester is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Winchester is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Moraes couldn't care less - he's delighted!
