Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paul Murray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Ngo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul Murray could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Henry Ngo's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paul Murray!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Henry Ngo!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Murray as Ngo shoots in.
Murray pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Murray throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Murray misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ngo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Murray tries to avoid it but Ngo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Murray to the ground. Murray escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Ngo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Murray sprawls well initially but Ngo persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Murray is trying to stand back up but Ngo is controlling him
Ngo has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Murray holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Ngo tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ngo wants to control the pace but Murray is squirming around nicely.

Ngo is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Murray to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Murray shrugs it off.
Murray is in all sorts of trouble here.
Ngo mounts Murray! Really nice guard pass there!
Ngo breaks from Murray's wrist control and lands an elbow.

You get the feeling that Murray really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Murray regains half guard.

Ngo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Ngo looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Ngo goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Murray rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Ngo's guard! Nice work there by Murray!
Murray would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Ngo looking for a guillotine here but Murray defends easily.
Murray knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ngo on the ground.
Murray wants to stand but Ngo is controlling his posture from full guard.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Ngo shoots in looking for a takedown but Murray manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ngo's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Ngo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Murray is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Ngo decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ngo throws a head kick but Murray moves out of range.
Danga de danga de dang - Murray scores with a four punch combination!
Murray works over Ngo's head and body with a nice combination.
Murray throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Ngo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Murray's waist but Murray gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ngo off to one side.
Ngo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Murray circles away.
Murray jabs at Ngo's body.
Nice takedown defense from Murray. No joy for Ngo on that attempt.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

and Murray counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Murray is looking to wear down Ngo with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Murray closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Murray looks to land a combination. Ngo sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Murray scores with a one two! Ngo had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Murray pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Ngo back to the cage. Murray follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Ngo avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Ngo manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Murray on his heels. He'll look to pass Murray's guard now, I'm sure.

Ngo postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Murray tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Ngo is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Murray is surviving well by controlling Ngo's body position as best he can.
Murray is trying to escape the mount but Ngo keeps good control and instead manages to take Murray's back.

Henry Ngo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Ngo has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
