Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Melvin Guillard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derrick Hicks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Guillard kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Damn it feels good to be a gangster. Melvin Guillard looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hicks scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Guillard is looking for a sweep. Hicks is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Guillard knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hicks on the ground.
Guillard is looking to control Hicks's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Guillard avoid being mounted?
Hicks wants to take a breather but Guillard is having none of it.
Hicks prevents Guillard from improving his position.

Hicks works his foot free and advances to mount.

Guillard tries to hold on but Hicks postures up.
Guillard is desperately trying to improve his position but Hicks has a good base and remains in mount.

Hicks working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Hicks has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Guillard has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Hicks looks gassed!
Guillard looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Guillard is really stuck here.
Hicks is working for a rear naked choke. Guillard is not defending it well and Hicks has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Guillard refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Guillard's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
