Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Nestle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aaron Pheonix!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, John Roberts and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nestle shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pheonix but Pheonix pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nestle has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Pheonix.
A head kick from Pheonix lands but Nestle takes it in his stride.
A thudding body kick lands there by Pheonix!
Pheonix throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Pheonix leaves Nestle with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Nestle dives in and grabs Pheonix's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pheonix pushes down on Nestle's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Nestle. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Nestle is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pheonix feints and then cracks Nestle's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Nestle down.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Pheonix - that will leave a mark!
Nestle really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Nestle chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Pheonix can pounce on him.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Pheonix! Nestle is out on his feet! Pheonix rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Nestle is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Nestle is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Aaron Pheonix!
