The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tony takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Tony gets tackled into the cage by Mon. Mon maintains the clinch. Mon goes for a takedown attempt but Tony pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Tony closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Mon quickly recovers to half guard. Tony is thwarting Mon's attempts to control the position. Tony is trying to work for a kimura but Mon is defending well.
Mon is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Tony pulls his head out easily. Mon looking for submissions off his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tony is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Dk Mon dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Mon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Mon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tony gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Tony passes Mon's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Tony looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
