Mc Travis misses with a takedown
enabling Coples to counter with a crisp jab.
Mc Travis shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Coples counters with a stiff right hand.

Fred Coples has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Soap Mc Travis.

and Coples counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mc Travis tries to sprawl but Coples drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Coples knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mc Travis on the ground.

Coples's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Coples has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Coples got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mc Travis has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Coples has managed to get both his arms back between Mc Travis's legs - danger averted.
Mc Travis is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Coples defends well.
Coples stands up over Mc Travis, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Coples is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Mc Travis has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Coples is looking to defend but Mc Travis has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Coples! Mc Travis pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Coples taps out and this one is all over!
