Darby's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Party Up in Here. Hart has chosen Vertigo - U2 as his entrance music. Bret Hart has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Taite Darby's chin.

The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Bruno Lombardi and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darby keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hart moves away from the strike by Darby.
Hart misses with a lunging right hand
and Darby counters with an outside leg kick.
Hart misses with a low kick as Darby jumps back.
Darby moves to clinch but Hart breaks away
and Hart counters with a nice uppercut.
Hart misses with an uppercut
and Darby counters with an outside leg kick.
Darby throws a jab when Hart was well out of range.
Hart circles away from the clinch attempt
and Hart counters with a left to the body.
Hart throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Darby counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Darby blocks a low kick nicely.
Hart takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Darby tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hart was well out of range. Poor timing from Darby.

Hart is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Darby.
Darby throws a right hand that Hart ducks under and follows up with a left that Hart also avoids with ease.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Darby.

and Hart counters with a straight right hand.
Hart misses with a combination
and Darby counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Hart missing with a left hand there. Darby was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Darby throws a leg kick but Hart sees it coming and moves out of range.

Darby throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
It looks like Bret Hart has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hart is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Darby lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hart circles away quickly and effectively.

Hart is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Darby had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
No joy there for Darby, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Darby looks to land a combination. Hart sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Hart throws a right hand that misses
and Darby counters with a nice body shot.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Darby tries to clinch but Hart is having none of it.
Hart circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hart moves out of range as Darby strikes.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Darby lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Hart at a distance.
Darby delivers a nice body kick.

Darby walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Hart checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Hart throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Darby.

and Hart counters with a straight right hand.
Darby swings widly with a right hand
and Hart counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Darby!

Darby tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Hart punishing his opponent with strikes.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Darby is looking to improve his position but Hart isn't that keen on the idea.
Hart landing strikes from the mount.

Hart avoids the attempt from Darby to control.
Hart looking to finish Darby with some ground and pound. This is bad for Darby!
Darby is rocked!
Darby regains half guard.
Oh Darby is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hart scores with a big shot! Darby's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Darby! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
