Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Peter Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergey Nabokov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nabokov is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by St1m - Ja Rap. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Peter Griffin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergey Nabokov! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Ivan Kurochkin and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Griffin. Griffin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Griffin fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Nice cross by Nabokov. Nabokov keeps the fight on the outside. Nabokov fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nabokov throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Griffin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nabokov swats him away and circles back towards the center. Nabokov takes a swing at Griffin's ribcage but misses. Griffin misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Nabokov.
Griffin gets a clinch. Griffin jumps guard and drags Nabokov to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Griffin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nabokov is one step ahead there. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Griffin is on top in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Nabokov looking for a sweep. Not yet Nabokov, not yet. Griffin postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Nabokov is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Griffin, into his guard. Nabokov trying to control but Griffin is working from the bottom. Nabokov looks gassed! Nabokov is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Nabokovis looking to pass into half guard but Griffin pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Griffin is in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Griffin is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Nabokov is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Nabokov has escaped and now he's on top! Griffin lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Nabokov!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Griffin moves to take his opponent's back. Nabokov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Griffin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Griffin is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Nabokov knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Nabokov for a finish. Griffin looking to hold on to the position here but Nabokov rolls and ends up regaining guard.
Griffin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nabokov swivels though and keeps the full guard. Griffin is working hard here to advance position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nabokov is trying to control the position but Griffin postures up. Griffin tries to free his leg and advance position but Nabokov is retaining full guard. Griffin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Nabokov looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Nabokov avoids a punch combination nicely.
Griffin shoots for a takedown but Nabokov saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Griffin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Griffin fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Griffin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Griffin looking to control and managing it successfully. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nabokov can do anything to dispel that myth. Griffin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Nabokov is looking to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Griffin has hold of Nabokov's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Nabokov manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Nabokov is trying desperately to improve position. Griffin trying to control but he's not successful this time. Griffin is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Nabokov has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Griffin trying to control but Nabokov is having none of it. Griffin working for a guillotine from mount but Nabokov is in no mood to give up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Peter Griffin dominated that round. That's time! Griffin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Griffin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nabokov is fending him off so far but Griffin persists. Nope, Nabokov circles away and we're back to standing. Nabokov closes the distance and lands a one-two. Griffin shoots in but no luck this time. Sergey Nabokov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Griffin avoids a punch combination nicely.

and Griffin counters with a shoot takedown. Nabokov fights it but they end up in guard. Griffin is pushing down on Nabokov's leg trying to pass to half guard. Nabokov is fighting to maintain full guard but Griffin has managed to sneak the leg through. Nabokov trying to hold on to Griffin's head to control him but Griffin postures up.
Griffin passes to full mount! Griffin tries to control but Nabokov wriggling away. Griffin is working to isolate an arm here. It's a choreographed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Griffin extends the arm and Nabokov is forced to tap!
