Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between James Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Navarro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aaron Navarro! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Navarro shoots in but doesn't get the takedown so Johnson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Johnson postures up.
Johnson gets to his feet. Navarro looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Johnson takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Navarro with a poor takedown and Johnson counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Johnson drags the fight down to the ground.
Navarro trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Johnson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Navarro has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Johnson is proving hard to escape from. Johnson is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
James Johnson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Johnson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Navarro sprawls well initially but Johnson persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Johnson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Navarro lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Johnson circles away quickly and effectively. Johnson gets off balance looking for a body kick and Navarro cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Johnson throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Navarro throws a sloppy head kick and Johnson moves out of range easily. Johnson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Navarro tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Johnson counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Johnson misses with the body kick and Navarro makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Navarro shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Johnson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Navarro's guard now. James Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aaron Navarro. Navarro looks gassed! Johnson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Navarro looking to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson sitting in guard, not really doing much. Johnson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Navarro for as long as he can get away with.
We're going to have a standup here because James Johnson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Navarro fails with the takedown and Johnson counters with a shoot takedown. Navarro fights it but they end up in guard. Navarro had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Johnson defends it easily. Johnson stays in close to Navarro's body and controls the position. Johnson stands up and waves to Navarro to follow him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson loads up on a big right hand but Navarro slips the punch. Johnson instigates a clinch. Navarro escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Navarro is looking to score with low kicks. Navarro tries to clinch and Johnson counters with a single leg into guard. Navarro didn't expect that. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Johnson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Johnson drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Johnson seems to have locked his on tight now - Navarro screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Johnson, as he picks up the win!
