PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Disco Dance (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonny Utah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Disco Dance!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonny Utah!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Utah tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dance was well out of range. Poor timing from Utah.
Dance misses with a takedown attempt - Utah sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Dance moves out of range of the strikes.
Dance has his takedown stuffed
letting Utah counter with a right hand.


It looks like Disco Dance has been cut.
Dance displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Utah throws out the jab.
Dance fails with the takedown
and Utah counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Disco Dance. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Utah works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Dance with a poor takedown

and Utah counters with a beautiful punch that sends Dance to the canvas!


Dance is rocked!
Dance is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Utah looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Oh Dance is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Utah accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Dance seems to have got his legs back now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dance lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Utah!
Utah tries to lock up and control but Dance gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Utah is looking to improve his position but Dance isn't that keen on the idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dance tries to control but Utah wriggling away.
Dance pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Dance is working for a guillotine from mount but Utah frees his head quite easily.
Utah is in all sorts of trouble here.

Dance is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Utah to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Utah shrugs it off.
Utah is looking to get to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Dance is working for a guillotine from mount but Utah frees his head quite easily.
Dance in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
You get the feeling that Utah really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Utah is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Dance cracks Utah with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Dance can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Utah is looking to escape.
Utah tries to hold on but Dance pushes him away.
Utah is looking to improve his position but Dance isn't that keen on the idea.
Utah really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dance. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dance lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Dance has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dance is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Utah can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Dance lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Utah is trying desperately to improve position.

Utah defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Dance.
Dance raining down shots from the mount!
Utah is bucking up trying to escape but Dance cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Utah is trying to stand.
Dance landing strikes from the mount.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Utah can do anything to dispel that myth.
Utah is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Dance wants to control the pace but Utah is squirming around nicely.
Dance postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Utah looks a forlorn figure.
Dance trying to control but he's not successful this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dance lands a nice shot to the head.
Utah in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dance lands a big shot there that rocks Utah but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Utah is in all sorts of trouble here.
A nice elbow there by Dance.
Dance with a couple of short strikes.
A big strike lands for Dance! That's really hurt Utah and he's turned his back - Dance keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Dance jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Disco Dance!
