Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shane Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stan Richard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Richard is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: In Ashes They Shall Reap. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter falls off balance throwing a combination
and Richard counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Carter misses with a double jab
and Richard connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Carter rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Carter takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Richard works Carter's body with a nice hook.
Carter throws a left and a right that both miss
and Richard counters with a one-two to the body.
A combination from Carter does no damage.

and Richard counters with a nice body shot.
Carter is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Richard throws a shot to the body.
Richard lands with a hook. Carter tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Carter gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Richard to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Carter will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Richard cracks Carter with a solid left hand.
Carter throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Richard is working Carter over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Richard must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
