0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Mcgillivary! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcgillivary thows a body shot but no joy. Mcgillivary throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Diaz to counter with a crisp jab. Mcgillivary misses with a double jab
and Diaz counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Diaz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Mcgillivary counters with a nice uppercut. Diaz tries to clinch and Mcgillivary counters with a nice uppercut. Mcgillivary misses with a jab, cross combination.
Diaz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Mcgillivary counters with a three punch combo that has Diaz backing up. Diaz nods at Mcgillivary to acknowledge the strikes. Diaz misses with a body kick. Mcgillivary throws a left and a right that both miss
and Diaz cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mcgillivary swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Diaz counters with a lovely shot to the body. Mcgillivary lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Diaz at a distance.
Diaz misses with a takedown attempt and Mcgillivary counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nathan Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Diaz misses with a takedown attempt and Mcgillivary counters with a lovely straight right hand! Mcgillivary jabs at Diaz's body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcgillivary fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Diaz is rocked! Diaz is breathing heavily. Mcgillivary dances in with a quick combination. Diaz is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Mcgillivary snaps Diaz's head back. Diaz stumbles backwards against the cage. Mcgillivary steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Diaz's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Diaz just didn't come prepared.
