Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Flavio Sandoval (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Foster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Flavio Sandoval! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jake Foster! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Foster will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sandoval throws a right hand that Foster ducks under and follows up with a left that Foster also avoids with ease. Sandoval misses with a leg kick and Foster counters with a shoot takedown. Sandoval fights it but they end up in guard. Foster tries to free his leg and advance position but Sandoval is retaining full guard. Sandoval keeping moving, preventing Foster from controlling successfully. Foster has gone for a leg lock! Sandoval slips out almost immediately though and dives into Foster's guard. Foster wants to get back to his feet but Sandoval is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Foster trying to control the position.
Foster looking for a guillotine here but Sandoval defends easily.
Sandoval wants to pass the guard but Foster is keeping the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Foster looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Sandoval works over Foster with some ground and pound from guard. Foster utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Sandoval stands and throws Foster's legs to the side, diving into side control. Foster manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Sandoval on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sandoval tries to get out of the position. Foster stalling away here and it's allowed Sandoval to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Foster throwing strikes but missing. Foster trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Sandoval manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Foster looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sandoval is one step ahead there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sandoval drops back, looking for a kneebar! Foster looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Foster looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Foster! You can see the frustration on Sandoval's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Foster throws an elbow but Sandoval slips to the side and avoids it well. Foster misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Foster throwing strikes but Sandoval manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Foster is trying to control Sandoval's posture but Sandoval avoids it. Foster tries to improve position but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sandoval looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Foster can't do much from the bottom here. Foster is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Sandoval off and has taken his back! Foster throws a series of strikes and Sandoval wriggles onto his back, so he's now mounted. He's in real trouble here. Foster controlling the position easily from mount. Foster prevents Sandoval from getting the reversal. Foster looking to control but Sandoval is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Foster is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Sandoval has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Sandoval!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sandoval slips nicely into half guard. Sandoval working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Sandoval is trying to work for a kimura but Foster is defending well.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Sandoval tries to pass the half guard into mount. Foster knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Foster gets full guard. Foster trying to keep a closed guard but Sandoval is proving a slippery customer.
Foster wants to sweep here but Sandoval controlling him for the moment. Sandoval stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Foster swivels though and keeps the full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jake Foster will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
A low kick from Foster misses and Sandoval counters with a straight right hand. Sandoval loads up on a big right hand but Foster slips the punch. Foster shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Foster is looking to stall here but Sandoval recovers full guard. Foster thows a big elbow that misses. Sandoval trying to control the position.
Foster throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sandoval works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Sandoval utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Foster wants to control from the top but Sandoval keeps moving. Foster is looking to advance position but Sandoval has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Sandoval working for a submission but Foster is keeping him at bay. Sandoval with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Foster is trying desperately to improve position. Sandoval wants to control the pace but Foster is squirming around nicely. Foster is looking to get to half guard. Sandoval tries to control but Foster wriggling away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Foster wants to hold on but Sandoval pushes him away. Foster tries to get back to half guard but can't. Foster is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Sandoval working for a guillotine from mount but Foster is in no mood to give up. Foster wants to control but Sandoval is having none of it. Sandoval thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Foster throws a big right hand that misses. Sandoval is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Foster postures up in Sandoval's guard and throws a big left but Sandoval blocks it. Foster throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Foster slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Sandoval looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Sandoval is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sandoval seems keen to control Foster's posture.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Foster postures up in Sandoval's guard and throws a big left but Sandoval blocks it. Foster looking to sit in guard and control but Sandoval gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Jake Foster has got the better of the ground game so far. Foster working a defensive guard here.
Sandoval passes Foster's left leg - he's now in half guard. Foster is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Foster is refusing to be controlled, as Sandoval sits in half guard. Foster has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Foster trying to control but Sandoval postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Flavio Sandoval dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Sandoval throws a head kick that misses. Sandoval lands with a straight right. Foster didn't see that one coming. Foster fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sandoval manages to avoid it. Foster shoots in and drives through. Sandoval sprawls well. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Sandoval, as that shot connected.
Sandoval throws a chopping leg kick but Foster manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Sandoval takes one on the button. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sandoval swings widly with a right hand
and Foster counters with a stiff right hand. Foster slips under a jab. Foster throws a combination that misses and Sandoval counters with a good low kick that Foster was not able to check.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sandoval misses with a two punch combination.

and Foster counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Sandoval steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Foster. Foster scores with a jab to the body. Foster avoids a kick to the body.

and Sandoval counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Foster chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Sandoval can pounce on him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Foster throws a left and a right that both miss
and Sandoval counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Sandoval throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Sandoval is looking to slow Foster down with leg kicks. Sandoval changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Sandoval punishes Foster's body with a nice straight punch. Foster checks the leg kick nicely there.
Sandoval clobbers Foster with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Sandoval throws a hook to the side of Foster's head but Foster sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Foster throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Sandoval counters with an outside leg kick.
Foster throws a series of punches but Sandoval avoids them all with ease. Foster misses with a combination
and Sandoval counters with a solid body kick. Foster takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Foster swings and misses with a shot to the body and Sandoval counters with a straight right hand. Foster throws a left and a right that both miss
and Sandoval counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Sandoval lands a nice hook to Foster's body. Foster takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Sandoval throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Foster on the side of the head. Foster throws a right hand that Sandoval ducks under and follows up with a left that Sandoval also avoids with ease. Foster tries for a takedown but Sandoval circles away easily and Sandoval counters with an outside leg kick.
Jake Foster is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Sandoval connects with a jab. Sandoval connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sandoval lands with an uppercut that bounces Foster off the ropes and back into rage. Sandoval misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Foster.
Foster throws a combination that misses and Sandoval counters with a nice low kick that buckles Foster's knee momentarily. Foster with a lazy takedown attempt and Sandoval makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Flavio Sandoval has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Foster. Foster takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Sandoval misses with a low kick.
Jake Foster seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sandoval misses with a leg kick and Foster counters with a nice double leg into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sandoval utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Foster wants to stand but Sandoval has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Sandoval has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Foster can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that's the end of the fight! Flavio Sandoval showed his dominance in that final round. I think Sandoval has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
