Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pat Barry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Carwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carwin has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pat Barry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Shane Carwin! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Dmitry Maklakov and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carwin tests Barry's chin there with a solid looking shot. Carwin looks gassed! Barry lands a nice leg kick that just misses Carwin's sensitive parts. Barry knocks Carwin to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?
It looks like Shane Carwin has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The strikes coming from Barry are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Barry trying to control the action but Carwin is working from the bottom. A lull in the action here as Barry stalls from top position. Barry tries to move to mount but Carwin blocks the move with his legs. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Barry postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Barry controls the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barry decides to take the fight back to the feet. Barry throws a sloppy head kick and Carwin moves out of range easily. Carwin takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Barry goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Pat Barry is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Carwin takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Carwin takes a kick to the side of the head. Barry misses with a few strikes there.
Barry goes for a small jab and connects. Now Barry goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Carwin stumbles back but Barry runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Carwin to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Carwin will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Pat Barry!
