Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Edmundo Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Royce Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Alves might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Jammin' - Bob Marley. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Edmundo Alves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Royce Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Edson Gomes and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves wants to clinch but Gracie slips to the side
and Gracie counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Gracie bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Alves is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Gracie off and has taken his back!
Gracie breaks Alves's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Alves looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Gracie is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Gracie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Gracie postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Alves is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gracie, into his guard.
Alves would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Gracie is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Alves defends well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gracie is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Alves is aware though and is defending well.
Gracie has his feet on Alves's thighs here. He's pushed Alves off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Alves screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
