0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Your Winner! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Winner misses with a lunging right hand
and Brinkley counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Brinkley looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Winner is fending him off so far but Brinkley persists. Nope, Winner circles away and we're back to standing. Winner misses with a hook. Brinkley ducked under it nicely. Brinkley rushes Winner and presses him up against the cage. Winner drops down looking for an ankle pick but Brinkley pulls his leg out and moves away.
Winner slips a jab from Brinkley. Brinkley with a lazy takedown attempt and Winner moves into the clinch. Brinkley prevents the takedown attempt.
Winner escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brinkley shoots for a double leg takedown but Winner sprawls well. He's pushed Brinkley's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeff Brinkley. That's going to take a lot out of him. Brinkley lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Winner circles away quickly and effectively. Brinkley misses with a low kick.
Brinkley tries to bum rush Winner with a series of wild strikes but Winner uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Brinkley slips a jab from Winner. Brinkley pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Brinkley shoots in for a takedown but Winner shows good takedown defense. Your Winner is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Winner closes the distance and clinches. Winner drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Brinkley gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Brinkley jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Winner walks away with a smile on his face. Brinkley gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Brinkley drives through and clinches with Winner against the cage.

It looks like Jeff Brinkley has been cut. Brinkley is trying to stall.
Winner lands an elbow just above Brinkley 's eye. Brinkley is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Brinkley tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Winner just stands there and leans against the cage. Winner has Brinkley pressed against the cage, preventing Brinkley from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Winner drops down looking for an ankle pick but Brinkley pulls his leg out and moves away.
Nice takedown defense from Winner. No joy for Brinkley on that attempt. Brinkley is breathing heavily. Winner rushes Brinkley and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Winner pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Winner throws a combination that misses and Brinkley holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Brinkley working hard to break the clinch. Winner tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Winner goes for a takedown in the clinch but Brinkley prevents it.
Winner tries to score a body lock takedown but Brinkley shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Brinkley looking to stall.
Winner should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Winner prevents a takedown attempt there.
Brinkley with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Brinkley tries to throw a body punch but Winner avoids it by throwing Brinkley back against the cage. Winner tries to pull guard but Brinkley won't allow it.
Winner decides to pull guard. Winner wants to sweep but no luck. Brinkley stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Winner swivels though and keeps the full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jeff Brinkley will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Jeff Brinkley's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Winner gets a clinch. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Winner has eaten all the pies! Brinkley has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Winner avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Winner has Brinkley pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Brinkley manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Brinkley working hard to break the clinch. Winner manages to pull guard.
Winner is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Brinkley decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Winner, up you get! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Winner defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Brinkley. Brinkley closes the distance and pushes Winner back into the cage. Winner is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Winner swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Brinkley is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Winner manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Winner tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Brinkley just stands there and leans against the cage. A battle for position here, against the cage. Brinkley is trying to force a seperation but Winner has the dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Winner stalling.
Brinkley is trying to break the clinch but Winner has him pressed against the cage. Brinkley gets underhooks to prevent Winner's takedown attempt.
Jeff Brinkley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Your Winner. Winner tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Winner manages to break the clinch.
Brinkley closes the distance and pushes Winner back into the cage. Winner utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Winner is working for takedown but Brinkley is calmly controlling the position for now. Winner can't get the takedown.
Winner manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Winner looking to hit a scissor sweep but Brinkley is one step ahead there. Brinkley stands up from Winner's guard - Brinkley perhaps looking for a knockout.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Winner moves into the clinch successfully.

Winner is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Winner breaks from the clinch.
