Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between junior dos santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Porter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). dos santos's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, fire with fire. Chris Porter acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, junior dos santos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chris Porter! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! dos santos shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. dos santos showed some decent athleticism there. Porter trying to control here.
Porter is pressing down on dos santos's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Porter is on top in guard.
Porter thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Porter scoring with punches to the head and body. Porter forces his way into half guard. dos santos wants to get back to his feet.
Porter working over dos santos with some ground and pound. dos santos looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. dos santos punching from the bottom.
Well, if Porter is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
dos santos knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Porter on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Porter is trying to work for a kimura but dos santos is defending well.
Porter is taking a breather. dos santos says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Chris Porter wasn't active enough on the ground. Porter lands with a straight right. dos santos didn't see that one coming. Porter throws a hook to the side of dos santos's head but dos santos sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. dos santos throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Porter.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Porter avoids the head kick by dos santos.
Porter connects with a body shot that sends dos santos's belly button to the back. Porter feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Porter is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. dos santos is breathing heavily. Porter lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Porter drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Porter jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Porter scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Porter engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. dos santos ducks right into an uppercut from Porter. Porter drives through with a takedown into guard. Porter advances position into side control! dos santos is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Porter working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Porter working dos santos over with strikes. Porter lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Porter looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Porter in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. dos santos tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Porter!
