Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shaun Shurk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sasha Lakovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Alexandre Firmino and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shurk stuffs the takedown.
Shurk lands a head kick. Lakovic smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Shurk closes the distance and clinches.

Shurk throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Lakovic throws a leg kick which misses Shurk's front leg but catches the back leg as Shurk tries to avoid it.

Lakovic is trying to maintain a safe position but Shurk gets an underhook and turns Lakovic into the cage.

Shurk had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Lakovic is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Shurk Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Lakovic's back instead.
Shurk goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Lakovic escapes and is now in half guard on top.
Lakovic is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Shurk hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
