PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sergey Zhuravlevich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ihsam Gie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gie has chosen Saint Loco Hip Rock as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sergey Zhuravlevich!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ihsam Gie!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gie lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Zhuravlevich closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gie to the mat! Gie manages to get full guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Zhuravlevich controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Zhuravlevich pushes down on Gie's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Zhuravlevich is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Zhuravlevich lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Well, if Zhuravlevich is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Zhuravlevich lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Zhuravlevich stops Gie from getting back to his feet.
Zhuravlevich with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Zhuravlevich uses his free foot to push down on Gie's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Gie.
Zhuravlevich breaks from Gie's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Zhuravlevich has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Gie's face.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gie is wriggling around trying to escape.
Zhuravlevich controlling the position easily from mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Zhuravlevich lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Gie hang on?
Gie looks gassed!
Zhuravlevich looking to control and managing it successfully.

Gie is still in real trouble! Can Zhuravlevich finish him?

Gie seems to have recovered his senses.
Zhuravlevich seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gie for as long as he can get away with.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Zhuravlevich with shots to the head and body - Gie looks very uncomfortable down there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sergey Zhuravlevich dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Zhuravlevich moves into the clinch successfully.

Zhuravlevich has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Gie clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gie won't enjoy being in this position. Zhuravlevich looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Gie is tapping - it's over boys! Zhuravlevich picks up the submission victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Sergey Zhuravlevich!
