Nawrocki kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Kanye West - Amazing. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mariotti swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Nawrocki counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Mariotti connects with a nice looking jab.
Mariotti throws an overhand right that lands on Nawrocki's shoulder, as Nawrocki tries to avoid the shot.
Nawrocki misses with a lunging right hand
and Mariotti counters with a left and a right that stings Nawrocki.
Nawrocki moves away from the strike by Mariotti.
Nawrocki will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Nawrocki dodges the punch combination from Mariotti.

and Nawrocki counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Nawrocki drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Nawrocki sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Nawrocki wants to take his opponent's back but Mariotti doesn't allow it.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Nawrocki is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Nawrocki extends the arm and Mariotti is forced to tap!
