Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mateus Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Happy Gunj (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gunj has chosen Shipping up to boston as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mateus Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Happy Gunj!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Hugh Johnson and John Mangel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunj misses with a jab, cross combination.
Gracie misses with the combination.

Gracie throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gunj was covering up waiting for the punch and Gracie finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Gracie pushing down on Gunj's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Gunj really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gracie drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Gunj dives on top into guard.

Gracie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gunj gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Gunj is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Gracie throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A shot to the liver by Gunj. Beautiful body shot.
Gracie ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gunj moves away.
Gracie avoids the head kick by Gunj.

Happy Gunj seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Gunj counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Happy Gunj is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Gracie throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gracie misses with a double jab.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Gracie.
Gracie throws a chopping leg kick but Gunj manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Gunj swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Gracie looks to score with a jab to the body but Gunj is just out of range.
Gunj uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Gunj defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gracie.

and Gracie counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gracie.

Gracie misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Gracie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gracie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Gunj is not content to let Gracie control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Gunj counters with a body kick.
A big left from Gracie misses.

Gracie lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gunj circles away quickly and effectively.
Nice straight punches there by Gunj. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Gunj.
Sloppy strikes from Gracie. Those never looked like landing.
Gracie shoots in and drives through. Gunj sprawls well.
Gunj misses with a double jab.
A slow jab from Gunj misses its intended target.
Gracie walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gracie.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mateus Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Gracie feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
