Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack The Ripper!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Raevsky displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from The Ripper.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The Ripper trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The Ripper keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Raevsky's head.

The Ripper drops back, looking for a kneebar! Raevsky looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Raevsky looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Raevsky!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The Ripper is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Raevsky defends well against a solid takedown attempt from The Ripper.
Raevsky feints a jab promting The Ripper to slip. Raevsky then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. The Ripper slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Raevsky fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Raevsky throws a combination. The Ripper tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
The Ripper closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Raevsky lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Raevsky shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. The Ripper eats them both and turns towards Raevsky to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Raevsky closes the distance and lands a one-two.

The Ripper works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

The Ripper postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Raevsky is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of The Ripper, into his guard.

The Ripper throws his legs up looking for a submission but Raevsky uses it to pass to side control.

Raevsky decides to stand back up.
The Ripper is trying hard to land a takedown here. Raevsky sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
The Ripper shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Raevsky as he avoids it easily.

The Ripper takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The Ripper takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Raevsky slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Good exchange - Raevsky coming out on top.
The Ripper dives in and grabs Raevsky's left leg, looking for a takedown. Raevsky pushes down on The Ripper's head and hops out.
Alexander Raevsky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack The Ripper.
Raevsky cracks The Ripper with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

The Ripper gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Raevsky to score an easy takedown into full guard.

The Ripper working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Raevsky doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Raevsky manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if The Ripper can do anything to dispel that myth.
