Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ville Apila (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oskar Schindler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schindler has chosen Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ville Apila! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Oskar Schindler! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Apila scores with a jab to the head.
Apila scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Apila thows a huge punch but Schindler dodges it nicely.
Apila is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Schindler is just riding it out for now. Apila eventually gives up the hold. Schindler wants to get back to his feet.
Apila throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Apila is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Schindler defends it well. Apila passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Schindler! Apila thowing shots but they're missing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Apila swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Schindler is now in Apila's guard. A big mistake from Apila there, giving up the dominant position! Schindler has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Apila is proving hard to escape from. Apila wants to stand but Schindler is controlling the position. Schindler wanted to stand there but Apila had control of the position. Schindler must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Schindler avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Apila has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Apila trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Schindler utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Apila works a leg free and moves into half guard. Apila is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Schindler is in a horrible position here. Apila smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Apila punching from mount but Schindler doing a good job of avoiding damage. Apila is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Schindler has managed to escape the submission attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schindler tries to hold on but Apila postures up. Schindler is looking to improve his position but Apila isn't that keen on the idea. Apila goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Schindler turns into him and now he's in Apila's guard.
Apila looking to hit a scissor sweep but Schindler is one step ahead there. Schindler got a little sloppy there for a moment and Apila has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Schindler has managed to get both his arms back between Apila's legs - danger averted.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Schindler would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Apila working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Schindler doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Schindler manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Schindler really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Apila. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Apila kicks Schindler off and gets to his feet. Apila just misses with a punch to the body.
Apila circles away from the clinch attempt and Apila counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Schindler wants to get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Apila tries for a takedown but Schindler sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Schindler tries to clinch and Apila counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Apila throwing shots but Schindler is blocking nicely. Schindler works his way to full guard. Good work. Apila passes into half guard. Apila is trying to work for a kimura but Schindler is defending well.
Apila looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Apila working over Schindler with some ground and pound. Schindler looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Apila works his way into full mount! Apila working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Apila prevents Schindler from getting the reversal. Apila lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Schindler is looking to improve his position but Apila isn't that keen on the idea.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Apila cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Schindler tries to hold on but Apila postures up. Apila scoring with strikes but Schindler is staying in there. Apila landing strikes from the mount and Schindler is in trouble! Apila avoids the attempt from Schindler to control. Schindler is breathing heavily. Apila landing shots from mount. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Apila putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Schindler tries to get back to half guard but can't. Apila in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Apila is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Schindler is surviving well by controlling Apila's body position as best he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Apila wants to finish this one by submission but Schindler is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Apila. Apila looking to finish Schindler with some ground and pound. This is bad for Schindler! Apila is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Schindler is surviving well by controlling Apila's body position as best he can. Apila with the ground and pound from mount. Schindler manages to regain half guard. Good work. Apila throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Schindler taking shots to the head. Apila landing strikes from the mount and Schindler is in trouble! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Apila dominating with strikes here. Apila fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Apila lands a heavy elbow. Apila landing strikes, looking to finish! Schindler is working to get back to half guard.

Ville Apila dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Apila closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Apila is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Apila lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Apila passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Schindler! Schindler wants to hold on but Apila pushes him away. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Apila is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Schindler to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Schindler shrugs it off. Apila thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
That's one minute gone in the round. Apila putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Apila with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Schindler is trying desperately to improve position. Apila landing strikes from the mount and Schindler is in trouble! Schindler is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Schindler tries to reverse the position but Apila maintains control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Apila lands with some strikes. Apila breaks from Schindler's wrist control and lands an elbow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Apila prevents Schindler from getting the reversal. Apila goes for an armbar but Schindler turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Schindler. Schindler wants to stand and escape but instead Apila has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Apila passes easily into side control. Nice work. Apila is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Schindler knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Apila is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Schindler has escaped the position, nice work there.

Ville Apila is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Schindler is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Schindler is not content to let Apila control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Schindler is looking for a sweep. Apila lands some shots froms side control. Apila trying to control the position but Schindler is working away. Apila is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Schindler is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Oskar Schindler has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Apila is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Schindler has escaped the position, nice work there.
And that's the end of the fight! Ville Apila showed his dominance in that final round. Well Apila has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
