Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Duff Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sammy Zakowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williams comes to the cage accompanied by New York, New York. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Duff Williams! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sammy Zakowski! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Lou da Vinci and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williams scores with a hook to the body. Zakowski takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Duff Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Williams swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Zakowski lands a high kick!
Zakowski tries to clinch there but Williams circles away.
Williams rushes Zakowski and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Zakowski is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Zakowski wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Williams has him pressed against the cage. Zakowski has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Williams is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Zakowski is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Zakowski missing with knees to the body.
Zakowski tries to land knees in the clinch but Williams avoids the damage to the body. Williams gets underhooks to prevent Zakowski's takedown attempt.
Duff Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sammy Zakowski. Knees in the clinch landing for Zakowski.
Williams is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Zakowski prevents Williams from breaking the clinch. Zakowski tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Williams escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Zakowski defending well as Williams loads up on a big left hand. Williams throws out a leg kick but Zakowski moves out of range and Williams only half commits. Williams lands a slapping body shot.
Zakowski looks gassed! Williams looks to score with a jab to the body but Zakowski is just out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zakowski avoids the body shot from Williams.
Zakowski closes the distance looking to clinch so Williams counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Williams controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Williams tries to stand but Zakowski is controlling from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zakowski is working an open guard so Williams takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Williams misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Zakowski.
Williams shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Zakowski's guard. Williams decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. A punch combination from Williams misses. Williams misses with a straight left. Williams circles away from the clinch attempt and Williams counters with a shoot takedown. Zakowski fights it but they end up in guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Williams is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Williams is looking to stand up but Zakowski won't let him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zakowski not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Williams wants to stand and escape but instead Zakowski has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Zakowski won't allow Williams to sweep him here. Zakowski pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Williams is keeping the position for now.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Zakowski keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Williams fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Williams swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Zakowski gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Williams counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Zakowski tries for a takedown but Williams circles away easily letting Williams counter with a right hand. Williams is looking to wear down Zakowski with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Williams swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Zakowski wants to clinch and Williams counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends Zakowski down! Williams is looking to finish but Zakowski is intelligently defending himself.
Zakowski is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Williams decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Zakowski, up you get! Zakowski is still on wobbly legs! Can Williams finish him? Zakowski bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Williams throws a nice looking combination but Zakowski bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Zakowski seems to have recovered his senses. Zakowski should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. A punch combination from Williams misses. Williams tests Zakowski's chin there with a solid looking shot. Williams pulls out of a head kick attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Zakowski has his takedown stuffed and Williams counters with a left right combination that sends Zakowski crashing to the mat - Williams wastes no time in diving on top of him and pounding Zakowski out for a TKO! Devastating finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Duff Williams!
