Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lerra Streven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mirko Filipovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lerra Streven! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mirko Filipovic! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Wagner Zegers and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Filipovic misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Filipovic throws a head kick that misses. Streven closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Filipovic did well to prevent Streven getting side control. Streven will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Streven trying to mount his opponent but Filipovic defends it. Streven is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Filipovic doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Streven. Filipovic regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Streven.
That's one minute gone in the round. Streven looking to sit in guard and control but Filipovic gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Streven really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Streven is looking to stand up but Filipovic isn't so interested in that idea. Filipovic wants to stand but Streven has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Filipovic avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Filipovic throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Mirko Filipovic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Filipovic looks gassed! Streven tries to clinch but Filipovic moves out of range. Streven fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Streven fails with the takedown. Filipovic tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Streven doesn't manage to clinch there - Filipovic circles away.

Mirko Filipovic is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Filipovic throws a head kick that misses and Streven counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Streven escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Filipovic gets caught flat footed, as Streven shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Filipovic can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Streven controls the pace. Streven wants to control from the top but Filipovic keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Streven is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Streven stands and steps away. Filipovic gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. The fight moves into the clinch position. Streven jumps guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Streven has a closed guard, preventing Filipovic from standing up. Streven lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Filipovic! Streven dominating with strikes here. Streven working the ground and pound effectively.
Streven lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lerra Streven dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Streven lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Streven dives in and grabs Filipovic's left leg, looking for a takedown. Filipovic pushes down on Streven's head and hops out. Streven avoids a punch combination nicely.

Streven tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Filipovic smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lerra Streven. That's going to take a lot out of him. Streven throws a right and a left that both miss. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Streven scoring well with a low kick there.
Streven looks to land a combination but Filipovic avoids it well. Filipovic tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Filipovic slips a jab and a cross from Streven.

A head kick by Filipovic misses and Streven decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Filipovic's guard. Streven stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Filipovic swivels though and keeps the full guard. Filipovic wants to get back to his feet but Streven is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Streven passes into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Streven works his way into side control. Filipovic defending against the ground and pound. The referee asks Streven politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Streven prefers to stall for the moment though. Streven tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Streven has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Streven shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Filipovic defends it nicely. Streven moves into the clinch successfully.
Streven's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Lerra Streven is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Streven rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Filipovic moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Streven scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Streven wants to free his trapped foot but Filipovic is holding on for dear life with his legs. Streven throwing shots but Filipovic is blocking nicely. Filipovic tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Streven manages to move to mount!

Lerra Streven dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Lerra Streven overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Streven lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Streven working the ground and pound but Filipovic is defending the strikes. Streven trying to control the action but Filipovic is working from the bottom. Streven tries for a kimura but Filipovic is defending well. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Filipovic sneaks out the side door and pushes Streven away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. A combination from Streven does no damage. Streven is looking to clinch but Filipovic is avoiding it.

Streven tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Streven rushes Filipovic and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Streven breaks the clinch.
Streven gets the takedown into side control. Streven advances to full mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Streven lands a big elbow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Streven goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Filipovic is on top in guard.
Streven is working an open guard so Filipovic takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. A head kick by Filipovic misses and Streven counters with a nice kick to the body. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Streven. Filipovic throws a sloppy head kick and Streven moves out of range easily.

Mirko Filipovic has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Streven scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Filipovic tries to kick Streven off in order to stand up. Streven Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Filipovic stops Streven from passing to mount. Filipovic is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Streven goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Filipovic rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Streven's guard! Nice work there by Filipovic! Lerra Streven is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Filipovic wants to stand but Streven is controlling his posture from full guard. Filipovic with a flurry of punches that miss. Filipovic tries to stand but Streven is controlling from the bottom. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that's the end of the fight! Lerra Streven showed his dominance in that final round. Well Streven has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
