Beckenbauer decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Beckenbauer is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Beckenbauer throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Smith escapes and throws Beckenbauer's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Smith tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Smith has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
