These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva misses with a double jab.

Junior Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Arona avoids the body shot from Silva.
Silva closes the distance looking to clinch
and Arona cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Silva doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Arona counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Arona throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Silva tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Arona is in Silva's guard.
Silva utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Arona throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Silva works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Arona working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Silva's head.
Arona drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Arona as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Silva screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Arona! Nice submission victory there!
