Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Franck Pompi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darren Cunningham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pompi comes to the cage accompanied by French National Anthem. Cunningham has chosen Scottish National Anthem as his entrance music. Darren Cunningham will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Franck Pompi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Darren Cunningham! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, David Schapiro and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pompi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cunningham swivels and escapes. Nice uppercut lands for Cunningham. That snapped Pompi's head back.
Cunningham stuffs the takedown attempt from Pompi. Pompi gets slowly back to his feet. Pompi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cunningham looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Cunningham is looking to regain half guard here but Pompi keeps moving and retains side control. Pompi is looking to take a break and control but Cunningham is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Pompi is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Cunningham is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Pompi is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cunningham is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Pompi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pompi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pompi trying to control the position but Cunningham is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cunningham tries to bench press Pompi off him but Pompi keeps the position. Pompi passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Cunningham! Pompi is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Cunningham is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Cunningham flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Pompi anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Cunningham and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Pompi slips an arm under Cunningham chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Pompi has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Pompi is squeezing on Cunningham like an anaconda would it's prey. Cunningham fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Franck Pompi!
