Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between General Scorcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stevens is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by ROIT!!!. General Scorcher has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, General Scorcher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dean Stevens!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Winston Howard and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scorcher throws a head kick but Stevens moves out of range.
Stevens misses with a body punch

and Scorcher counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Stevens is trying to control but can't.
Stevens is trying to get back to full guard.
Scorcher wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stevens keeps working.
Stevens should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Scorcher missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Scorcher is really struggling to control Stevens but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. General Scorcher wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Scorcher throws a sloppy head kick and Stevens moves out of range easily.

Scorcher feints and as Stevens raises his hands in defense, Scorcher changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Scorcher stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stevens swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Stevens has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Scorcher is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Stevens.
Scorcher in side control lands a decent elbow.

You can see the frustration on Stevens's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Scorcher stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Scorcher circles away from the clinch attempt
and Scorcher counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Stevens is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Scorcher is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Stevens's half guard.

Scorcher is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Scorcher is breathing heavily.
Scorcher seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Stevens does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Scorcher wants to pass the guard but Stevens is defending well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Scorcher is trying to control. Stevens wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Stevens is looking to control Scorcher's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Stevens avoid being mounted?
Scorcher seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

General Scorcher has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Stevens darts in trying to clinch
and Scorcher counters with a head kick. That will keep Stevens thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Scorcher throws a combination. Stevens tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Stevens looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Scorcher is looking for a sweep. Stevens is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Stevens tries to free his leg and advance position but Scorcher is retaining full guard.
Scorcher wants to stand and escape but Stevens is having none of it.

Stevens is pushing down on Scorcher's leg trying to pass to half guard. Scorcher is fighting to maintain full guard but Stevens has managed to sneak the leg through.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stevens wants to stand up but Scorcher has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Stevens prevents Scorcher from improving his position.
Scorcher is trying to control but can't.
Ground and pound from Stevens.
Scorcher trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
The referee warns Scorcher that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Stevens unloading with bombs!
Scorcher is working to get back to half guard.

Stevens cracks Scorcher with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Scorcher is in all sorts of trouble here.
Stevens trying to control but Scorcher is having none of it.

Dean Stevens showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Stevens moves in looking to clinch but Scorcher pushes him off.
Scorcher throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Stevens.
Scorcher tries to close the distance and clinch but Stevens swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Scorcher shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Stevens sprawls well. Stevens wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Scorcher gets slowly back to his feet.
Stevens misses with a series of wild punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stevens tries to clinch there but Scorcher circles away.

and Scorcher counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Stevens's guard now.
Stevens is looking to stand up but Scorcher isn't so interested in that idea.
Scorcher trying to control the position from guard on top but Stevens is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Scorcher prevents Stevens from getting back to his feet.
Stevens working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Scorcher.

General Scorcher overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Scorcher gets to his feet - Stevens follows without any prompting.

Scorcher bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Scorcher misses with the ground and pound.
Scorcher will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Scorcher wants to control but Stevens is keeping him busy.
Stevens wants to control but Scorcher postures up.

Stevens stops Scorcher from passing to mount.
A lull in the action here.

Scorcher goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Stevens rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Scorcher's guard! Nice work there by Stevens!

And that's the end of the fight!
General Scorcher showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Scorcher has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
