Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryu Hayabusa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donald McIllrivy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryu Hayabusa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Donald McIllrivy!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Sano and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McIllrivy closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

McIllrivy is trying to get an arm triangle but Hayabusa is defending well.
McIllrivy advances nicely into full mount.

McIllrivy goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Hayabusa is on top in guard.

McIllrivy is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hayabusa defends well.
McIllrivy keeping moving, preventing Hayabusa from controlling successfully.

McIllrivy is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
McIllrivy looks gassed!

McIllrivy is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hayabusa is aware though and is defending well.

Hayabusa wants to control from the top but McIllrivy keeps moving.

McIllrivy has an active guard here but Hayabusa has managed to pass into half guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hayabusa trying to control from half guard but McIllrivy is working away.
McIllrivy tries to roll over but Hayabusa keeps him under control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McIllrivy works his way to full guard. Good work.

Hayabusa got a little sloppy there for a moment and McIllrivy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hayabusa has managed to get both his arms back between McIllrivy's legs - danger averted.

McIllrivy has his foot on Hayabusa's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hayabusa works his way back into a safe position though.

McIllrivy looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Donald McIllrivy will probably get the nod.
That's time! Hayabusa's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



McIllrivy bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Hayabusa's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Hayabusa is trying to control McIllrivy's posture but McIllrivy avoids it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

McIllrivy thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Hayabusa is trying to improve his position.

Hayabusa is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Hayabusa is in trouble now - McIllrivy has advanced to mount!
Hayabusa tries to hold on but McIllrivy postures up.
Donald McIllrivy has got the better of the ground game so far.

McIllrivy wants to finish this one by submission but Hayabusa is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from McIllrivy.

McIllrivy looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

McIllrivy swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Hayabusa is now in McIllrivy's guard. A big mistake from McIllrivy there, giving up the dominant position!
Hayabusa is looking to work some ground and pound but McIllrivy has wrist control.

Hayabusa got a little sloppy there for a moment and McIllrivy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hayabusa has managed to get both his arms back between McIllrivy's legs - danger averted.
McIllrivy bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hayabusa's guard.
Hayabusa manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
McIllrivy is trying desperately to improve position.
Hayabusa lands with some strikes.
McIllrivy gets back to half guard.
McIllrivy moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Hayabusa throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
McIllrivy looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

McIllrivy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Donald McIllrivy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Hayabusa escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McIllrivy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hayabusa not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

McIllrivy is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Hayabusa wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

McIllrivy is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! McIllrivy extends the arm and Hayabusa is forced to tap!
