Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
14 - 28 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Luke Cummo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Michael Martin!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Martin. Those never looked like landing.
Martin misses with a jab to the body
and Cummo connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Cummo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Martin.
Cummo shoots and misses
enabling Martin to counter with a crisp jab.
Martin cracks Cummo with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Martin misses with a left hand
and Cummo counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Cummo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Martin working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Cummo.
Martin kicks Cummo off and gets to his feet.
Martin throws a hook to the side of Cummo's head but Cummo sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Martin throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Martin lands with a nice body kick.
Cummo walks into a left hand.
Martin scores with a nice right hand.
Cummo takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Cummo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Cummo takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Martin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cummo moves away.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cummo tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Martin counters with a good low kick that Cummo was not able to check.
Cummo is breathing heavily.
Martin dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Cummo. That did some damage!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jab, jab by Martin - just one landing.
Martin misses the shot to the body.
Martin scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Martin ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Michael Martin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Martin lands a body shot.
Martin moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
It looks like Luke Cummo has been cut.
Cummo has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Martin finds it's way round the side to connect with Cummo's head.
Cummo is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Martin fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Cummo out cold! Brutal finish!
