Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kelvin Shum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Georges Stix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Georges Stix told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kelvin Shum! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Georges Stix! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shum gets a clinch. Shum avoiding damage.
Stix wants to get back to striking at distance but Shum won't allow it.
Shum breaks from the clinch.
Shum moves in looking to clinch but Stix pushes him off. Georges Stix seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shum moves in looking to clinch but Stix pushes him off. Shum clinches up against the cage. Shum prevents Stix from breaking the clinch. Stix breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Stix dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Shum. That did some damage! Stix goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Shum tries to clinch there but Stix circles away.
A good leg kick by Stix. Stix misses with an uppercut. Shum saw that one coming. Stix connects with a crisp jab. Stix circles away from the clinch attempt.
Shum is looking to clinch. Stix throws a leg kick which misses Shum's front leg but catches the back leg as Shum tries to avoid it. Shum has taken the fight to the clinch.
Shum drops down looking for an ankle pick but Stix pulls his leg out and moves away.
Stix looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Stix should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Shum is looking to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shum shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Stix wants to get back to his feet. Shum content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Stix tries to kick Shum off but Shum keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Shum trying to mount his opponent but Stix defends it. Shum controlling the pace. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stix trying to control here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Shum misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Shum is looking to clinch. Shum tries to clinch but Stix moves out of range. Stix throws the left hand but Shum avoids the punch easily. Shum moves in looking to clinch but Stix pushes him off. Stix connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Shum is looking to clinch but Stix is avoiding it.
Stix looks to land a combination but Shum avoids it well. Shum swats away the attempt to clinch by Stix. Shum tries to clinch but Stix is having none of it. Shum drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Shum postures up.
Stix looks gassed!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stix can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Shum controls the pace. Stix wants to get back to his feet but Shum is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Shum looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Stix wants to stand up but Shum is controlling him. Shum passes Stix's left leg - he's now in half guard. Shum moves nicely into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Shum controlling from side mount. Shum working the head and body with strikes. Shum just content to control the position. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Stix has eaten all the pies! Shum tries to move to mount but Stix blocks the move with his legs. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kelvin Shum dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Stix gets caught flat footed, as Shum shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Shum throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stix works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Shum sitting in guard here, content to control. Shum postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Shum is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Shum wants to pass the guard but Stix is keeping the position. Shum preventing the sweep. Shum sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shum with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Stix wants to stand but Shum is controlling the position. Stix is breathing heavily. Shum lands a couple of elbows. Shum not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Shum stands up over Stix, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Shum's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Shum slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Shum's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Shum has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Kelvin Shum just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Stix - that will leave a mark!
Shum moves out of range of the body kick. Stix misses the shot to the body. Shum doesn't manage to clinch there - Stix circles away.

Kelvin Shum is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Stix lands a nice looking body kick. Stix cracks the inside of Shum's front leg. Shum drives through with a takedown into guard. Kelvin Shum overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Stix keeping full guard, as Shum tries to pass. Shum is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shum makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Shum seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Shum prevents Stix from getting back to his feet. Shum not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Kelvin Shum dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Stix thows a body kick. Shum tries to catch it but that hurt him. Stix is looking to slow Shum down with leg kicks. A good leg kick by Stix. Shum doesn't manage to clinch there - Stix circles away.
Shum has closed the distance and engaged Stix in a clinch.
Shum has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Stix clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Stix trying to control the action but Shum just sinks the hooks in. Stix grimaces as he takes a shot to the body. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Stix is taking damage to the body and head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stix looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Oooh a big shot gets through from Shum. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
Stix looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. Shum is riding his opponent, not letting Stix buck him off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Kelvin Shum just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Shum has taken the fight to the clinch.
Stix wants to break free but Shum has control.

Stix wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Shum goes for a takedown attempt but Stix pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Shum shoots in and bounces Stix off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Stix being controlled here, momentarily. Shum postures up and lands a big shot to Stix's brow. Shum sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shum has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Shum throwing strikes but missing. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Shum here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Stix wants to stand up but Shum is controlling him. Stix can't keep his opponent in guard - Shum advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Shum trying to control the pace. Stix wants to get back to his feet. Georges Stix has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Shum looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Shum is controlling the pace.
Stix on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Stix misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Shum seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
And that's the end of the fight! Kelvin Shum showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Shum, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
