Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Finnick Carmelo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wilfredo Newman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Finnick Carmelo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Wilfredo Newman! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carmelo looks for a takedown but Newman sprawls well. Carmelo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Newman lands with a right hand. Carmelo avoids the body shot from Newman.
No luck for Carmelo with that takedown attempt. Wilfredo Newman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Newman misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Carmelo.
Carmelo takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Newman misses with a body shot.
Newman misses the shot to the body. Newman pushes Carmelo up against the cage in a clinch. Carmelo wants to get back to striking at distance but Newman won't allow it.
Carmelo gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Newman.
Newman is struggling to control the position. Carmelo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. A frustrated look appears on Carmelo's face as he tries to break the clinch. Carmelo pulls guard successfully.
Carmelo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Newman manages to get himself to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Carmelo drops back looking for a leg! Newman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Newman manages to kick Carmelo off! Carmelo jumps back into Newman's guard. Carmelo throwing strikes from guard but Newman blocks nicely. Carmelo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Newman swivels though and keeps the full guard. Carmelo wants to control from the top but Newman keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Newman trying to keep a closed guard but Carmelo is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Newman wants to sweep here but Carmelo controlling him for the moment. Carmelo drops back looking for a leg! Newman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Newman manages to kick Carmelo off! Carmelo jumps back into Newman's guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Newman can do anything to dispel that myth. Newman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Carmelo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Carmelo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carmelo trying to control the position from guard on top but Newman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Newman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carmelo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Newman has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Carmelo has passed into side control.
Newman tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Carmelo looking to control but Newman is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Carmelo is working for a guillotine from mount but Newman frees his head quite easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Finnick Carmelo will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Newman gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Newman drops down looking for an ankle pick but Carmelo pulls his leg out and moves away.
Newman is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Carmelo rather than just go for the knockout. Newman misses with a looping right. Carmelo shoots for a double leg takedown but Newman sprawls well. He's pushed Carmelo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Carmelo. Carmelo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Newman counters by clinching up. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Finnick Carmelo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Newman is trying to drag Carmelo to the mat but Carmelo just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Carmelo drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Newman gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Carmelo has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Newman is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Newman working some nice short punches in the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Newman scores with a nice hook to the head. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Newman lands a right hand. Carmelo is trying to push Newman away but Newman has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Come on Newman - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Newman is breathing heavily. Newman lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Carmelo slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carmelo looking to control.
Carmelo tries to land a sweep but no joy. Newman not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Carmelo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carmelo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Newman is just riding it out for now. Carmelo eventually gives up the hold. Carmelo frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carmelo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Newman is wriggling around trying to escape.

Carmelo tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment. Newman is trying desperately to improve position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Carmelo trying to control but he's not successful this time. Carmelo controlling his opponent. Carmelo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Carmelo wants to control the pace but Newman is squirming around nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Wilfredo Newman will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Newman stuffs the takedown attempt from Carmelo. Carmelo gets slowly back to his feet. Newman walks into a left hand. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Carmelo is defended easily by Newman. Carmelo has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Finnick Carmelo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Newman lands a nice hook to Carmelo's body. Carmelo takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. A telegraphed right hand from Newman misses the target. Newman misses with a body shot.
The fight moves into the clinch position. A short right hand to the side of the head by Newman. Newman manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
A frustrated look appears on Carmelo's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Carmelo fails to pull guard.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Newman. The referee calls for Newman to work.
Newman lands a nice uppercut. Newman makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Newman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Newman misses the body punch and Carmelo moves into the clinch. Carmelo has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Newman jumps guard.
Newman looking to hit a scissor sweep but Carmelo is one step ahead there. Newman has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Carmelo has passed into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Newman managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Carmelo.
Carmelo working away. Carmelo wants to stand but Newman is controlling his arm. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Newman taking a bit of punishment here - Carmelo scoring with strikes. Carmelo cracks Newman with a big elbow. Carmelo wants to control but Newman is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carmelo sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Newman is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Newman is trying to improve his position. Carmelo working the ground and pound but Newman is defending the strikes. Carmelo trying to control the position but Newman is working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Newman looks to move to half guard but instead Carmelo has passed into mount! Damn! Carmelo looking to control but Newman is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Newman working to try and regain half guard.
Carmelo lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Finnick Carmelo. I think Carmelo has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
