Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Fonseca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JeanGuy Rubberboot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fonseca kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Guns n' Roses - Welcome to the Jungle. Rubberboot has chosen Jimi Hendrix - Purple Haze (Breaks Mix) as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jackson Fonseca! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, JeanGuy Rubberboot! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fonseca forces Rubberboot back against the cage and clinches. Rubberboot fails to pull guard.
Rubberboot ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Rubberboot no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Rubberboot is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rubberboot not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Fonseca trying to control the position from guard on top but Rubberboot is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fonseca trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fonseca accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Fonseca tries to free his leg and advance position but Rubberboot is retaining full guard. Fonseca throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Fonseca postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rubberboot is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Fonseca, into his guard. Fonseca is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Fonseca is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rubberboot drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Fonseca dives on top into guard. Fonseca with a flurry of punches that miss. Rubberboot trying to keep a closed guard but Fonseca is proving a slippery customer.
Rubberboot looking for a sweep. Not yet Rubberboot, not yet. Fonseca trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Fonseca has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Rubberboot looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Rubberboot utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Fonseca wants to pass the guard but Rubberboot is keeping the position. Fonseca wants to control from the top but Rubberboot keeps moving. Fonseca missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Rubberboot escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fonseca gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Fonseca stopping the sweep attempt from Rubberboot. Rubberboot is trying to control the position but Fonseca postures up. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Fonseca is fighting to break Rubberboot's control of his arms but Rubberboot is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Rubberboot trying to keep a closed guard but Fonseca is proving a slippery customer.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Rubberboot had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Fonseca defends it easily. Rubberboot tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rubberboot working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fonseca doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fonseca manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Fonseca throws a big right hand that misses. Fonseca trying to control but Rubberboot is working from the bottom. Fonseca throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rubberboot works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Fonseca's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Rubberboot manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Rubberboot trying to control but Fonseca is having none of it. Rubberboot looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rubberboot goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Fonseca is on top in guard.
Fonseca passes Rubberboot's left leg - he's now in half guard. Fonseca is looking to advance position but Rubberboot won't allow it. Rubberboot is defending against the submission attempts here by Fonseca.
Rubberboot has hold of Fonseca's hands but Fonseca slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jackson Fonseca dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Fonseca lands a body punch. Rubberboot jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Fonseca walks away with a smile on his face. Rubberboot gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Fonseca closes the distance and clinches. Rubberboot drops down looking for an ankle pick but Fonseca pulls his leg out and moves away.
Rubberboot shoots in for a takedown but Fonseca shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Jackson Fonseca has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of JeanGuy Rubberboot. Fonseca clinches. Rubberboot tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Fonseca just stands there and leans against the cage. Fonseca swings wildly with an uppercut but Rubberboot uses good head movement to avoid it. Rubberboot tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Fonseca works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Rubberboot jumps guard but Fonseca stands there with Rubberboot around his waist. Rubberboot gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. Fonseca has clasped his hands together around Rubberboot's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Rubberboot is trying to improve his position. Rubberboot prevents Fonseca from moving into mount. Rubberboot dodges the ground and pound from Fonseca. Fonseca working the ground and pound. Rubberboot is trying to control Fonseca's posture but Fonseca avoids it. Fonseca tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Fonseca has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Fonseca connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Rubberboot some visible discomfort.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rubberboot can't do much from the bottom here. Fonseca lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Rubberboot parries the strikes from Fonseca easily there. Fonseca is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Rubberboot to escape.
You can see the frustration on Rubberboot's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Rubberboot might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Fonseca kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Fonseca misses with the ground and pound. Rubberboot managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Fonseca.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fonseca wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Rubberboot, who protects the arm well. Rubberboot prevents Fonseca from moving into mount. Rubberboot struggling a bit here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rubberboot takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Fonseca lands a few punches from side control. Fonseca works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Rubberboot can't do much from the bottom here. Rubberboot is looking for a sweep. Fonseca misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Fonseca throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Rubberboot is looking for a sweep. Sloppy strikes there by Fonseca.

Fonseca grinds an elbow into Rubberboot's temple. Fonseca wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rubberboot keeps working. Rubberboot wants to control but Fonseca postures up. Rubberboot is trying to get back to half guard. Fonseca misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Rubberboot manages to get back to half guard. Rubberboot has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Fonseca is working away from the top position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jackson Fonseca dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Rubberboot tries for a takedown but Fonseca circles away easily and Fonseca counters with a lovely shot to the body. Rubberboot misses with a combination
and Fonseca counters with a nice body shot. Rubberboot throws a leg kick and Fonseca counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Rubberboot is lucky that one didn't land flush. Rubberboot throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Fonseca. Rubberboot doesn't succeed with the takedown and Fonseca counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Fonseca throws a head kick but Rubberboot moves out of range.
Fonseca fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rubberboot, pushing him back against the cage. Fonseca scores with a hook to the body. A short right from Fonseca on the inside. A head punch on the inside from Fonseca fails to land. Rubberboot takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Fonseca lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Fonseca lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Rubberboot or not. Rubberboot jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Fonseca walks away with a smile on his face. Rubberboot gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Jackson Fonseca has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of JeanGuy Rubberboot. and Fonseca counters with a good low kick that Rubberboot was not able to check. Rubberboot shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Fonseca defends it nicely. Fonseca digs a good body shot into Rubberboot's ribs. Fonseca lands with a straight right. Rubberboot didn't see that one coming. JeanGuy Rubberboot seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fonseca lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Rubberboot misses with a combination
and Fonseca counters by moving into the clinch. JeanGuy Rubberboot has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Fonseca digs a right hand into Rubberboot's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Rubberboot's gas tank. Fonseca scores with a shoulder strike. Fonseca escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Rubberboot jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Fonseca walks away with a smile on his face. Rubberboot gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Rubberboot with a poor takedown and Fonseca counters with a series of strikes. Rubberboot will be more careful next time no doubt. Fonseca rushes Rubberboot and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Fonseca breaks the clinch.
Fonseca lands with a right hand. Rubberboot is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Rubberboot shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Rubberboot was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Fonseca is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Rubberboot goes for an armbar but Fonseca turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Fonseca. Rubberboot looking to control but Fonseca passes into half guard.

Jackson Fonseca overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Fonseca is working for a kimura but Rubberboot is defending it quite comfortably.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Fonseca tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rubberboot knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
And that's the end of the fight! Jackson Fonseca showed his dominance in that final round. Well Fonseca has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
