Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Barca Carthage!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paulsen Ambrosius and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carthage throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Jackson counters with a stiff right hand.
Carthage throws an off balance right hand
and Jackson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Jackson cracks Carthage with a right hand to the side of the head.
Carthage misses with a left hand
and Jackson counters with a two punch combo.
Carthage rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Jackson counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Carthage throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Jackson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Carthage's guard.
Jackson is looking to work some ground and pound but Carthage has wrist control.
Jackson is stalling in the full guard.
Carthage really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jackson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Carthage utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jackson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Carthage preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Carthage wants to sweep here but Jackson controlling him for the moment.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jackson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Jackson wants to pass the guard but Carthage is keeping the position.
Carthage avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Jackson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jackson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Jackson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jackson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Carthage works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Jackson wants to control from the top but Carthage keeps moving.
Jackson lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Jackson is standing up over Carthage. Carthage looks to escape but Jackson dives into side control.
Jackson throws an elbow but Carthage slips to the side and avoids it well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Carthage tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jackson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Jackson is putting a hurting on Carthage here, landing some big shots from side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jackson is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Carthage's shoulder. That is not cool.
Jackson misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Carthage regains half guard there - taking advantage of Jackson's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Jackson is looking for a kimura but Carthage is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jackson to get the leverage.
Jackson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Jackson thows a huge punch but Carthage dodges it nicely.
Carthage avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Jackson.
Jackson is trying to control. Carthage wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Quinton Jackson dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Jackson takes a swing at Carthage's ribcage but misses.
Carthage fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Jackson on the side of the head.
Carthage misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Jackson counters with a shoot takedown. Carthage fights it but they end up in guard.
Carthage avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Jackson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Carthage works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Jackson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Jackson postures up in Carthage's guard and throws a big left but Carthage blocks it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jackson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Jackson has gone for a leg lock! Carthage slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jackson's guard.

Jackson tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Quinton Jackson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Carthage misses with an uppercut

and Jackson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Carthage won't be happy with that.
Carthage is trying to work for a sweep but Jackson has mounted him!
Jackson scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Jackson thowing shots but they're missing.
Jackson tries to control but Carthage wriggling away.
Jackson connects with a bit shot that sees Carthage covering up! More strikes from Jackson and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Jackson is our winner by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Quinton Jackson!
