Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mario Cabelo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Haiko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jimmy Haiko is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mario Cabelo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jimmy Haiko! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Haiko tries to clinch but fails miserably and Cabelo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. A nice inside leg kick there by Haiko. That's going to slow Cabelo down. Cabelo swats away the attempt to clinch by Haiko. Haiko tries to clinch there but Cabelo circles away.
Haiko pushes Cabelo up against the cage in a clinch. Haiko lands a good knee to the midsection. Cabelo won't want to take too many of those. Haiko lands a nice knee to the body. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A nice glancing elbow lands by Haiko.
It looks like Mario Cabelo has been cut. A nice glancing elbow lands by Haiko. Cabelo is breathing heavily. Haiko lands an elbow inside. Haiko gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Cabelo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Haiko is looking to clinch. Haiko tries to clinch but Cabelo is having none of it. Haiko closes the distance and pushes Cabelo back into the cage. Cabelo fails to pull guard.
Haiko's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cabelo keeps the fight on the outside. Haiko tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cabelo swats him away and circles back towards the center. Haiko throws a nice outside leg kick. Haiko fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Cabelo has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Cabelo blocks a head kick by Haiko.
Haiko fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Haiko tries for a takedown but Cabelo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Haiko closes the distance and pushes Cabelo back into the cage. Cabelo on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Cabelo takes an elbow to the forehead. Haiko lands a damaging elbow. Haiko lands an elbow just above Cabelo 's eye. Haiko lands a nice knee to the body. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Haiko's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Haiko closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cabelo circles away. Haiko tries to clinch but fails miserably and Cabelo counters with a straight right hand. Cabelo circles away from the clinch attempt and Cabelo counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Haiko throws a head kick that misses. Haiko misses with a takedown attempt - Cabelo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Mario Cabelo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Haiko. Cabelo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Haiko as he avoids it easily. Cabelo clinches. Cabelo tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Haiko smiles and moves away.
Haiko stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Haiko wants it to stay on the feet. Haiko fails in his attempt to clinch. Haiko plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! No luck with that takedown attempt from Cabelo. Haiko has taken the fight to the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Haiko tries for a takedown. No joy.
Cabelo tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Haiko lands a good knee to the midsection. Cabelo won't want to take too many of those. Cabelo is trying to break free. Cabelo is trying to force a seperation but Haiko has the dominant position. Cabelo takes a knee to the side of the body. Cabelo pulls guard successfully.
Cabelo wants to stand but Haiko is controlling the position. Haiko trying to control but Cabelo is working from the bottom. Haiko wants to stand but Cabelo has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Cabelo is pulling down on Haiko's head. It's preventing any offense from Haiko, at least for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Cabelo's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Haiko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cabelo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Cabelo with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Cabelo keeps the fight on the outside. Haiko tries a head kick but it misses.
Cabelo tries to work over Haiko's front leg with a kick but Haiko checks it. Cabelo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Haiko swivels and escapes. Haiko lands a leg kick that knocks Cabelo off balance momentarily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Haiko looks to clinch and Cabelo counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Cabelo frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimmy Haiko dominated that round. The cut man is working on Mario Cabelo's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Cabelo dives in and grabs Haiko's left leg, looking for a takedown. Haiko pushes down on Cabelo's head and hops out. Haiko tries to clinch but fails miserably and Cabelo counters by clinching up. Haiko lands a nice knee to the body. Haiko landing knees to the body.
Haiko has Cabelo pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Cabelo manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Cabelo blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Haiko misses with an elbow over the top. Jimmy Haiko seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Cabelo wants a takedown.

Haiko closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Haiko pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Cabelo shoots in but no luck this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mario Cabelo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Haiko takes the fight into the clinch. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Haiko lands a knee to the head.
Cabelo is looking to break free of the clinch but Haiko has double underhooks. Haiko unloads a knee to the mid-section. Haiko wants to break the clinch but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Haiko landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Cabelo jumps guard but Haiko stands there with Cabelo around his waist. Cabelo gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Haiko breaks the clinch.
Cabelo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cabelo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Haiko wants to control but Cabelo is having none of it. Cabelo controlling the position easily from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cabelo in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Haiko is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Cabelo has taken his back! Cabelo working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Haiko is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Cabelo has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Haiko taps out!
