Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Stephen Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Meed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stephen Williams looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stephen Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Meed!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, John Mangel and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams darts in trying to clinch
and Meed counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Meed shoots for a takedown but Williams saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Williams throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Meed decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Williams has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Meed is working away from the top position though.
Meed wants to pass to mount but Williams is defending the position.

Meed seems to be working for a kimura but Williams defends the submission attempt.
Meed not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Meed prevents Williams from improving his position.
Meed wants to stand but Williams has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Meed content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Meed's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

It looks like Meed might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Meed has hold of Williams's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Williams manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Williams wants to control but Meed is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Meed counters by moving into the clinch.
Williams throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Williams tries to work over Meed's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Meed scores with a shot to the side of Williams's head.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Meed takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Meed jumps into guard, dragging Williams to the mat.
