The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson throws a combination that misses
and Johnson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Hua misses with a takedown
and Johnson counters with a lovely shot to the body.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Johnson is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Hua has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Johnson is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Hua tries to score with some ground and pound. Johnson controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Hua is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Johnson's shoulder. That is not cool.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Hua shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Johnson is trying to defend but Hua finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Hua wants to control but Johnson is keeping him busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson has one foot on Hua's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

and Johnson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Johnson.

Hua has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Johnson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Johnson is edging up against the ropes. He's using the ropes to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Hua has hold of one of Johnson's legs. Johnson is fighting the takedown attempt but Hua gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Hua stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Johnson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hua sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Johnson's guard.

Johnson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Hua asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Hua remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Johnson is pushing Hua's head away, looking to escape. Hua manages to hold on to the position though.
Johnson is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion. Will he make it to the final bell?

It looks like Mercury Johnson has been cut.
Johnson is looking to get back to his feet here but Hua is keeping cool and he's managed to take Johnson's back.
Hua is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Hua gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Hua gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Hua apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Johnson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Johnson wants it to stay on the feet.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hua, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
