Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bill Paroni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David Tate is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bill Paroni!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, David Tate!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Mauricio Rocha and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paroni misses with a lunging right hand
enabling Tate to counter with a crisp jab.

Tate closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Paroni did well to prevent Tate getting side control.
Tate takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Paroni is looking to control Tate's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Paroni avoid being mounted?
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Paroni makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Paroni.

Paroni bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tate's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Paroni accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That was a close round but I would say that Bill Paroni will probably get the nod.

Tate drops his hands momentarily and Paroni takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

and Tate counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Paroni not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Paroni manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tate manages to get himself to full guard.
Paroni has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Paroni drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Tate manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Paroni has Tate in his guard.

Tate really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Paroni. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Tate avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Paroni swings widly with a right hand

so Tate counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Paroni controls Tate momentarily but Tate frees himself.
Tate wants to control from the top but Paroni keeps moving.

Paroni manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Tate wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Paroni.

Paroni misses with some ground and pound and Tate recovers position to half guard.

Tate kicks Paroni off and gets back to his feet.
Paroni tries to clinch there but Tate circles away.
Paroni misses with an uppercut

and Tate counters with a single leg into guard. Paroni didn't expect that.

David Tate has got the better of the ground game so far.

Paroni working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tate doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tate manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

David Tate showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Paroni uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Bill Paroni seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Paroni tries to close the distance and clinch but Tate swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Paroni throws a leg kick which misses Tate's front leg but catches the back leg as Tate tries to avoid it.

Paroni lands a leg kick that knocks Tate off balance momentarily.

Paroni lands a left and a right that send Tate crashing to the mat, dazed. Paroni thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Tate is rocked!
Paroni swings for the body but Tate moves out of range.

Paroni lands a big head kick that sends Tate tumbling to the mat! Paroni takes a step backwards and waves Tate back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Tate is still on wobbly legs! Can Paroni finish him?
David Tate is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Paroni digs a good hook to Tate's body.
Tate gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Paroni is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Paroni lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Tate goes down and covers up as Paroni starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bill Paroni!
