Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nick Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Mcgillivary! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Mcgillivary tests Diaz's chin there with a solid looking shot. Mcgillivary throws a one two combo.
Diaz misses with the combination.
Mcgillivary tries to bum rush Diaz with a series of wild strikes but Diaz uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Diaz throws a combination that misses and Mcgillivary counters with a stiff right hand. Nick Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Diaz dodges the punch combination from Mcgillivary.
Diaz tries for a takedown but Mcgillivary circles away easily and Mcgillivary counters with a one-two to the body. Diaz pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Mcgillivary back to the cage. Diaz follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Mcgillivary misses with a wild combination.
Mcgillivary throws a right and a left that Diaz avoids nicely. A combination from Mcgillivary does no damage. Mcgillivary shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Diaz eats them both and turns towards Mcgillivary to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Diaz doesn't succeed with the takedown and Mcgillivary counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Diaz slips a jab and a cross from Mcgillivary.

That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mcgillivary on the side of the head. Mcgillivary lands a body shot.

and Mcgillivary counters with a three punch combo that has Diaz backing up. Diaz nods at Mcgillivary to acknowledge the strikes. Mcgillivary fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Mcgillivary has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Mcgillivary stuns Diaz with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Diaz is breathing heavily. Diaz showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mcgillivary.

Mcgillivary throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Mcgillivary lands a nice looking body shot.
Diaz needs to keep his hands up - Mcgillivary had a free shot at his head there. Diaz swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Mcgillivary counters with a left and a right that stings Diaz. This has been an exciting period of action! Mcgillivary lands with a big left! Diaz is wobbled badly! Mcgillivary comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Diaz to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
