Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fernado Tavares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mando The (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tavares comes to the cage accompanied by All Of The Lights. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mando The! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tavares shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. The manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The working a defensive guard but Tavares manages to pass into side control anyway.
The tries to get back to half guard but can't. The is not content to let Tavares control the position. A lull in the action here as Tavares stalls from top position. The tries to bench press Tavares off him but Tavares keeps the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tavares is trying to get an arm triangle but The is defending well. The regains half guard. The is trying to get back to full guard. Tavares looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Tavares missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Tavares postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for The to stand up. Tavares scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Tavares wants to control but The is keeping him busy. The works his way to full guard. Good work. Tavares is in close to The's body, working some short punches and elbows. Tavares trying to control but The is working from the bottom. Tavares is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The is trying to keep Tavares in close.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. The being controlled here, momentarily.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mando The. The with a lazy takedown attempt and Tavares counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for The! The really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tavares. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Tavares content just to control the position here. Tavares with the ground and pound from mount. The is bucking up trying to escape but Tavares cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Tavares controlling the pace for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fernado Tavares dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Tavares throws a right and a left that The avoids nicely. The fails with the takedown and Tavares counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Tavares throwing shots but The is blocking nicely. The is looking to get back to full guard here but Tavares has managed to pass to side control instead. Tavares stands up and we're back to a striking position. Tavares tries to close the distance and clinch up but The swats him away and circles back towards the center.
That's one minute gone in the round. The misses with a takedown attempt and Tavares decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in The's guard. The is trying to hold Tavares in close to prevent damage but Tavares has managed to pass into half guard.
Tavares is figuring out what he wants to do next. Tavares escapes and gets back to his feet. Tavares shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. The tries to get back to half guard but can't. The wants to control but Tavares is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tavares throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for The because Tavares loaded up on that one. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The is in all sorts of trouble here.
Tavares avoids the attempt from The to control. Tavares wants to control the pace but The is squirming around nicely. Tavares controlling the position easily from mount. Tavares has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of The's face.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Tavares content just to control the position here. Tavares prevents The from getting the reversal. Tavares trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Tavares controlling the position easily from mount. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. The gets back to half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fernado Tavares dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
The shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Tavares counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Tavares. Fernado Tavares overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Tavares wants to control from the top but The keeps moving. The wants to hit a switch here but Tavares passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for The there! The wants to control but Tavares is having none of it. Tavares tries to control but The wriggling away.
That's one minute gone in the round. The holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Tavares tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
The should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Tavares wants to take The's back here but The is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
The is trying to escape the mount.
The tries to hold on but Tavares pushes him away. Tavares sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Tavares lands with some strikes. The wants to control but Tavares is having none of it. Tavares cracks The with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Tavares looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Tavares content just to control the position here. The reaches up to try and control the position but Tavares seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! The rolls and tries to escape and now Tavares has his back!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tavares is trying to stick to The's back but The is turning into Tavares. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Tavares's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by The. The trying to control the position from guard on top but Tavares is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tavares wants to sweep but no luck. The is looking to work some ground and pound but Tavares has wrist control. The wants to control from the top but Tavares keeps moving. The stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tavares swivels though and keeps the full guard. The postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. The trying to control the position from guard on top but Tavares is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. The drops back, looking for a kneebar! Tavares looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Tavares looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Tavares! The is trying to control Tavares's posture but Tavares avoids it. The seems a little lost for a moment, as Tavares dominates the positioning. Tavares working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fernado Tavares clearly takes that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
The with a poor takedown and Tavares counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Tavares is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that The can do to turn this around? Tavares trying to control from half guard but The is working away. The wants to control but Tavares is keeping busy.
Tavares is looking to take a break and control but The is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Tavares is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! The is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
