Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Josh Marker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Castaneda Krishnanuevo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Krishnanuevo comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Guru Josh Project - Infinity 2008 kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Josh Marker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Castaneda Krishnanuevo! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Anthony Taglia and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Krishnanuevo shoots in but no luck this time. Krishnanuevo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Krishnanuevo takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Krishnanuevo shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Krishnanuevo was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The referee warns Marker that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Krishnanuevo with shots to the head and body - Marker looks very uncomfortable down there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Marker holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Krishnanuevo tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Krishnanuevo lands a big shot there that rocks Marker but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Krishnanuevo throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Marker because Krishnanuevo loaded up on that one. Krishnanuevo lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marker is bucking up trying to escape but Krishnanuevo cracks him with another couple of good strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Krishnanuevo thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Krishnanuevo throwing strikes but Marker bucks up and reverses the position. He's now in guard on top. Krishnanuevo throwing strikes but missing. Krishnanuevo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Marker works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Krishnanuevo throws a strike but Marker rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Krishnanuevo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Marker is one step ahead there. Krishnanuevo doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Krishnanuevo wants to sweep but no luck. Krishnanuevo is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Krishnanuevo is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Krishnanuevo is looking for a triangle but Marker pushes his legs off easily.
Krishnanuevo wants to sweep here but Marker controlling him for the moment. Krishnanuevo throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Krishnanuevo looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Krishnanuevo keeping moving, preventing Marker from controlling successfully. Krishnanuevo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Krishnanuevo throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Krishnanuevo lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Marker! Marker keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Marker is breathing heavily. Krishnanuevo misses with a head shot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Krishnanuevo throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Marker because Krishnanuevo loaded up on that one. Krishnanuevo pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Krishnanuevo landing strikes from the mount and Marker is in trouble! Marker blocking the ground and pound. Marker knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Krishnanuevo on the ground. Krishnanuevo fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Marker wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Krishnanuevo.
Krishnanuevo misses with a head shot. Krishnanuevo landing strikes, looking to finish! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Krishnanuevo cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Krishnanuevo raining down hammerfists from mount. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Poor strikes thrown by Krishnanuevo there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Castaneda Krishnanuevo dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Krishnanuevo dives in and grabs Marker's left leg, looking for a takedown. Marker pushes down on Krishnanuevo's head and hops out. Krishnanuevo shoots in looking for a takedown but Marker manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Krishnanuevo's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Marker missing with a left hand there. Krishnanuevo was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Marker slaps away a takedown attempt from Krishnanuevo, before circling back to the center of the mat. Josh Marker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Castaneda Krishnanuevo. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Krishnanuevo with a lazy takedown attempt and Marker makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Krishnanuevo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Marker as he avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Krishnanuevo misses with a takedown enabling Marker to counter with a crisp jab. Marker lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Josh Marker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Krishnanuevo defending well as Marker loads up on a big left hand. Marker swings and misses with a shot to the body and Krishnanuevo counters with a single leg into guard. Marker didn't expect that. Krishnanuevo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Krishnanuevo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Krishnanuevo wants to pass the guard but Marker is keeping the position. Krishnanuevo is looking to work some ground and pound but Marker has wrist control. Krishnanuevo postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Krishnanuevo landing with the ground and pound. Krishnanuevo throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Krishnanuevo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Krishnanuevo trying to control the position from guard on top but Marker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Krishnanuevo is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Krishnanuevo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Krishnanuevo in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Krishnanuevo with a flurry of punches that miss. Krishnanuevo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Krishnanuevo postures up in Marker's guard and throws a big left but Marker blocks it. Krishnanuevo distracts Marker with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Krishnanuevo throws a big right hand that misses. Krishnanuevo not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Krishnanuevo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Krishnanuevo slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Krishnanuevo working the head and body with strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Krishnanuevo is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Krishnanuevo in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Krishnanuevo lands some shots froms side control. Krishnanuevo creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Marker sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. An elbow from Krishnanuevo crashes against the mat.
Krishnanuevo grinds an elbow into Marker's temple. Marker managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Krishnanuevo.
Krishnanuevo in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Marker on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Krishnanuevo is working Marker over with some ground and pound from side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Castaneda Krishnanuevo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Krishnanuevo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Marker circles away. Marker stuffs the takedown attempt from Krishnanuevo. Krishnanuevo gets slowly back to his feet. Krishnanuevo has his takedown stuffed and Marker counters with a lovely straight right hand! Josh Marker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Castaneda Krishnanuevo. Both fighters are breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Horrible takedown by Krishnanuevo or perhaps it was just good defense by Marker which made him look bad. Marker throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Krishnanuevo.
That's one minute gone in the round. Krishnanuevo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily enabling Marker to counter with a crisp jab. Krishnanuevo shoots in but Marker avoids the takedown attempt easily. Krishnanuevo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Marker counters with a nice uppercut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Krishnanuevo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Marker circles away. Castaneda Krishnanuevo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Krishnanuevo misses with a takedown and Marker counters with a three punch combo that has Krishnanuevo backing up. Krishnanuevo nods at Marker to acknowledge the strikes. Marker lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Krishnanuevo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Marker counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Krishnanuevo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Marker swivels and escapes. Krishnanuevo shoots in for a takedown but Marker shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Krishnanuevo walks into a stiff left hand from Marker. Josh Marker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Marker fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Krishnanuevo on the side of the head. Krishnanuevo fails with the takedown and Marker counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Castaneda Krishnanuevo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Marker scores with a jab to the body. Krishnanuevo misses with a takedown and Marker counters with a straight right hand. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Krishnanuevo fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
And that's the end of the fight! Josh Marker showed his dominance in that final round. I think Krishnanuevo has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
