Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. Mark Calloway has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Calloway!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Mickles!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calloway gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Mickles counters with a nice uppercut.
Calloway has his takedown stuffed
and Mickles cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.


It looks like Mark Calloway has been cut.
Calloway is breathing heavily.
Calloway takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Calloway gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Mickles counters with a nice right hand that sends Calloway toppling to the canvas! Calloway scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Mickles finish him?!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Calloway. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Calloway has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Mickles finds it's way round the side to connect with Calloway's head.
Mickles scores with a decent looking hook.

Mickles gets in close and instigates a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Mickles drags the fight down to the ground.

Mickles looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Mickles has his foot on Calloway's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Calloway works his way back into a safe position though.

Calloway got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mickles has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Calloway has managed to get both his arms back between Mickles's legs - danger averted.
Calloway trying to control the position from guard on top but Mickles is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mickles looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Mickles is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Calloway has his hands clasped together but Mickles extends an breaks Calloway's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Mickles.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Chris Mickles!
