Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Damaskenos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rulon Oboev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alex Damaskenos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rulon Oboev! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Konstantin Menshow and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Damaskenos tries for a takedown but Oboev sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Damaskenos shoots in but Oboev avoids the takedown attempt easily. Damaskenos tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Oboev swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alex Damaskenos. That's going to take a lot out of him. Damaskenos gets in close and instigates a clinch. Damaskenos looking for a takedown. Oboev changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Damaskenos fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Damaskenos comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Oboev loads up on a big right hand but Damaskenos slips the punch. Good standup being displayed there by Damaskenos as he connects with a hook. A combination from Oboev does no damage. Damaskenos fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Damaskenos scores with a jab to the jaw. Oboev slips under a jab. Oboev looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Oboev drives through with a takedown into guard. Damaskenos on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Damaskenos tries to get out of the position. Damaskenos is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oboev thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Oboev tries to free his leg and advance position but Damaskenos is retaining full guard. Damaskenos is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Oboev pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Damaskenos is keeping the position for now. Oboev controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Oboev tries to free his leg and advance position but Damaskenos is retaining full guard. Damaskenos is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Oboev pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Damaskenos is keeping the position for now.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Oboev tries a head kick but it misses.
Oboev takes a shot right to the bread basket. Oboev takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Damaskenos is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Damaskenos misses with a takedown attempt and Oboev counters with a nice double leg into side control. Damaskenos won't be happy with that. Oboev just content to control the position. Damaskenos is looking to regain half guard here but Oboev keeps moving and retains side control. Damaskenos knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Oboev on the ground. Oboev trying to control the position but Damaskenos is working away. Damaskenos is trying to buck Oboev off. Oboev has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Damaskenos! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. You get the feeling that Damaskenos really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Oboev prevents Damaskenos from getting the reversal. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Oboev controlling from the full mount. Damaskenos tries to hold on but Oboev postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Damaskenos is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Damaskenos is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Oboev has control of Damaskenos's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Damaskenos regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Oboev swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Damaskenos is now in Oboev's guard. A big mistake from Oboev there, giving up the dominant position! Oboev has an active guard here but Damaskenos has managed to pass into half guard.
Oboev has a hand on Damaskenos's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Damaskenos takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Oboev regains half guard. Oboev tries to roll over but Damaskenos keeps him under control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Damaskenos has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Oboev works to full guard. Oboev looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Oboev is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Oboev is trying to work for a kimura but Damaskenos is defending well.
Damaskenos is trying to control but can't.
Damaskenos is trying to get back to full guard. Damaskenos is trying to stand up here but Oboev is controlling him well. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Oboev is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Oboev is trying to work for a kimura but Damaskenos is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rulon Oboev dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Damaskenos tries to clinch but Oboev moves away so Oboev counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Oboev trying to control the position from guard on top but Damaskenos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Oboev passes Damaskenos's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Oboev prevents Damaskenos from improving his position. Damaskenos wants to get back to his feet.
Oboev is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Damaskenos is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
