Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Max Detroit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Latka Gravas!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Bruno Hogan and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good leg kick by Detroit there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Gravas scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like Max Detroit has been cut.
Gravas throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Detroit is looking to clinch but Gravas is avoiding it.
Gravas throws a right and a left that both miss.
Gravas shoots in and bounces Detroit off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Detroit is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Detroit holds on and takes a little breather.
Max Detroit has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Gravas throws an off balance right hand
and Detroit counters with a low kick, right behind Gravas 's knee.
Detroit stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Detroit wants it to stay on the feet.
A chopping leg kick lands by Detroit.
A looping hook to the body misses from Detroit. Gravas does a little dance to reset his feet.
Gravas takes a jab right on the kisser.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gravas checks the leg kick.
Detroit throws a right and a left that both miss.
Gravas throws a body punch but Detroit moves out of range.
Nice sprawl there from Detroit as Gravas shoots in.
Gravas looks gassed!

Detroit cracks Gravas with an open hand slap.
A nice leg kick lands there from Detroit.
Detroit throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Detroit scores with a one two! Gravas had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
A lazy left from Detroit finds it's target.
Gravas is rocked!
Detroit finds Gravas's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Gravas flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Detroit lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Gravas will be OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Max Detroit!
