Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Gericho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nikola Perovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Gericho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nikola Perovic!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Summer Carpenter and Donatello Bradman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gericho just misses with a punch to the body.

Perovic shoots in and gets a takedown into Gericho's guard.
Perovic postures up and lands a big shot to Gericho's brow.
Gericho really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Gericho is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Gericho is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Perovic stops Gericho from standing up.
Perovic trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Perovic pushing down on Gericho's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Gericho has hold of Perovic's hands but Perovic slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Perovic uses his free foot to push down on Gericho's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Gericho.
Gericho is in a horrible position here. Perovic smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Perovic punching from mount but Gericho doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Perovic sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Perovic takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gericho wants to control but Perovic is having none of it.
Gericho knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Perovic on the ground.
Perovic misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Perovic tries to control but Gericho wriggling away.
Poor strikes thrown by Perovic there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Gericho is looking to improve his position but Perovic isn't that keen on the idea.

Oooooh, big shot lands for Perovic! Gericho is hurt baaadly! Perovic is firing away with more strikes - Gericho is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
