Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Duran! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gene White! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! White dips to his left and cracks Duran with an uppercut! Duran tries for a takedown but White sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Duran dodges the punch combination from White.
White misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Duran looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Gene White seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Duran avoids a punch combination nicely.
White misses the jab. White tries to score with a low kick but Duran moves his leg out of the way. White throws a one two combo.

White's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and White duly obliges. White throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Duran. White is working the combinations to good effect here. Duran shoots in looking for a takedown. White tries to sprawl out of it but Duran keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. White manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. White will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Duran stacks White on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Duran!

Duran is looking to take a break and control but White is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Duran is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, White has escaped the position, nice work there. White sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Duran wants to control but White is keeping him busy. White looking for submissions off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. White looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. White gets full guard. White keeping moving, preventing Duran from controlling successfully. White tries to land a sweep but no joy. White had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Duran is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. White Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Duran's back instead. Duran rolls, trying to escape but White keeps control of the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. White is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Duran defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. White has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Duran has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Duran has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. White looking for the rear naked choke. And he's got it! Duran taps!
