Takaya has chosen Jimi Hendrix - All along the Watchtower as his entrance music. Rermes Gracie had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Takaya throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gracie works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Takaya is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gracie is just riding it out for now. Takaya eventually gives up the hold.

Yoshihiro Takaya showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Takaya tries to bum rush Gracie with a series of wild strikes but Gracie uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Takaya moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Takaya lands with an uppercut that bounces Gracie off the cage and back into rage.
Oooh a lovely combination from Takaya sends Gracie down but not out. Takaya dives into side control looking to finish.
Gracie is rocked!
It looks like Rermes Gracie has been cut.
Gracie is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Oh Gracie is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Takaya slips a nice elbow through Gracie's hands, connecting with Gracie's forehead.
Takaya is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gracie doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Takaya.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gracie wants to get back to full guard but Takaya has passed into side control.
Takaya works to advance to full mount. Gracie defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Gracie takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
